ELECTION NEWS-2017:

அக்., 3க்கு பின் 18 வயது நிரம்பியவர்களை புதிய வாக்காளர்களாக சேர்க்கவும், இறந்தவர்களை நீக்கவும் வாக்காளர் பட்டியல் சிறப்பு திருத்தம் பணி அக்., 31 வரை நடக்கிறது.
தாலுகா அலுவலகம், மாநகராட்சி மண்டல அலுவலகங்கள், ஓட்டுச்சாவடிகளில் வாக்காளர் பட்டியல் வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும். அங்கு சென்று சரிபார்த்து கொள்ளலாம்.
   அனைத்து ஓட்டுச்சாவடிகளிலும் அக்., 8, 22ம் தேதிகளில் சிறப்பு வாக்காளர் சேர்க்கை முகாம் நடக்கிறது. இதில் வாக்காளர்கள் தங்களை பெயர்களை சேர்க்க, நீக்க, திருத்தம் செய்ய தங்கள்பகுதி ஓட்டுச்சாவடிகளில் மனு அளிக்கலாம்.
 இப்படி பெறப்படும் மனுக்கள் டிச., 10லிருந்து பரிசீலிக்கப்படும். பிறகு வாக்காளர் துணைப்பட்டியல் அச்சிடும் பணி டிச., 11 முதல் 2018 ஜன., 3 வரை நடக்கும். பிறகு ஜன., 5ல் இறுதி பட்டியல் வெளியிடப்படும்.

   எனவே இந்த வாய்ப்பை வாக்காளர்கள் பயன்படுத்தி கொள்ளலாம், என்றனர்.

TAMILNADU LOCAL BODY ELECTION 2016:

Tamil Nadu local body polls to be held in two phases on 17 and 19 October
The civic polls for urban and rural local bodies in Tamil Nadu will be held in two phases on 17 and 19 October, the state election commission said on Sunday.
“The last date for filing nomination is October 3. Reviewing of the documents will take place the following day. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is on October 6,” said state election commissioner P. Seetharaman. The nomination documents can be collected from 26 September.
With the announcement of the dates of local body polls, the model code of conduct comes into force in Tamil Nadu.The first phase of elections will be held in 10 corporations. Over 1.31 lakh posts are to be filled through direct polls for which a total of 5.8 crore people are eligible to vote.
While the counting of votes will be held on 21 October, oath taking ceremony for all directly elected members will take place on 26 October.
The state election commission has said that the indirect elections to the posts of mayors, municipality chairman, other local body chiefs and deputy chiefs will be held on 2 November.
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) government recently reintroduced indirect elections for the post of mayor of municipal corporations and chairpersons in all local bodies in the state.

Facilities for voters
In a bid to encourage more voters to exercise their franchise, the Election Commission has taken several measures.
* For the first time, EVMs will feature a symbol for NOTA. The symbol was created in association with the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
* The photographs of candidates will be printed along with their names and election symbol in the EVMs.
* The Commission will distribute voter slips bearing the photo of the elector with the details, including that of polling booth, his/her serial number in the electoral roll.
* Every polling station will be equipped with basic minimu facilities such as drinking water, toilets, shed and ramp.
* Model polling stations will be set up in select constituencies.
* Separate polling booths for women will be set-up, wherever possible.
* Differently-abled votes will be given priority in exercising their franchise.
* Auxillary polling stations will be set up inside Blind Schools and leprosy sanatorium.
* Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) will be used in select constituencies.
* All critical events will be videographed.

--> State govt. employees salary to be revissed as per 7th Pay Commission.
--> Rs. 1 lakh for temples of local deities.
--> Aavin to provide milk for Rs. 25 per litre.
--> Govt. to reimburse education loan.
