  • AIIMS MBBS Exam Pattern - Single paper of 3 hours & 30 minutes durations. There will be 200 multiple choice questions. Each of the four sections namely physics, chemistry, biology will have 60 questions and 20 question from General Knowledge section.
  • Marking scheme - 1 Mark for correct answer and negative marking of -1/3 (one third) mark for incorrect answers

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Eligibility: Candidates who wish to appear for AIIMS MBBS entrance exam in 2016 are advised to read the eligibility criteria to ascertain their age and qualification as required by examination authority.
AIIMS MBBS 2016 Eligibility Criteria are given below:
  • Nationality: Candidates must be Indian nationals. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are also eligible
  • Foreign candidates are not required to appear for the entrance examination
  • Age: Candidates must complete 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before December 31, 2016
  • Date of Birth: Candidates must have born on or after January 2, 2000 are not eligible
  • Education Qualification: Applicants have passed the 12th class with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects under the 10+2 Scheme/ Senior School Certificate Examination (CSBE) or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or an same examination from a recognised University/ Board of any Indian State
  • Candidates who will appear for 10+2/HSC in 2016 can also apply for AIIMS MBBS
  • General and OBC candidates  must have passed 10+2/HSC in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with 60% marks while for SC/ST the qualifying marks is 50%
AIIMS MBBS 2016 Exam Pattern: The exam will be conducted in online mode i.e. computer based test (CBT). The exam will be for 3 hours and 30 minutes conducted in morning and forenoon sessions. The online question booklet of AIIMS MBBS 2016 exam will have 200 multiple choice and reason-assertion type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge. AIIMS MBBS 2016 Application Procedure: The online application procedure of AIIMS MBBS 2016 has started on February 15, 2016. The AIIMS MBBS 2016 application form can be submitted in online mode only as no any other mode of application were accepted. The application procedure of AIIMS MBBS 2016 involved Online Registration Form, Application form, Application confirmation, Editing application, Uploading images, Payment and generation of registration slip. The cost of AIIMS MBBS 2016 application fee was Rs. 1000 for General/OBC and Rs. 800 for SC/ST category candidates. OPH Candidates is exempted from paying the examination fee. The payment of examination fee was done through net banking/Debit/Credit Card along with applicable service tax. 

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Important Dates: The application form of AIIMS MBBS will begin from February 15 and entrance exam is scheduled to be held on 29 May, 2016. Candidates can check important dates from the table mentioned below. The given dates are is based on 2016 - 17 admission brochure. AIIMS MBBS 2016 Admit Card: Examination authority will release the admit card of AIIMS MBBS 2016 on May 2. The admit card will be available for only those candidates whose application form has been accepted. Admit card can be downloaded from the official website by entering application number and password. Candidates are advised to verify all the entries in the admit card such as name and address, exam roll number, photograph, signature, allotted exam canter, slot, etc.  Without the admit card candidates will not allowed to take test. Candidates are advised to preserve the AIIMS MBBS 2016 admit card till the completion of admission process as it will required at the time of counselling and admission process for identity verification.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Exam Day Guideline: Candidates are advised to reach the designated exam centre 1 hour prior to the time as mentioned in the admit card because they have to go through security checks and biometric verification. Candidates do not have to carry any textual or digital materials except admit card to the examination hall otherwise they will be debarred from taking examination.
Candidates have to carry their AIIMS MBBS 2016 admit card to the examination centre along with any of the id proof for validation their identity. The stationery materials for the rough work will be provided at the centre.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Answer Key: AIIMS MBBS entrance exam is computer based test so getting the answer key is not possible. The AIIMS MBBS 2016 answer key will be available only when it will be released by the conducting authority, i.e. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS New Delhi. Candidates who are looking for the answer key must note that the answer key will have no authentic source and validity of it. Generally coaching institutes releases the answer key for those exams whose question paper is available after the exam.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Result: The examination authority will declare the result of AIIMS MBBS 2016 on June 14, 2016. The authority will declare result of only those candidates who will secure the qualifying marks as prescribed by the examination authority. The AIIMS MBBS result 2016 will be declared on the basis of All India rank wise as well as roll number wise. To check result candidates have to look for their name, roll number, father’s name and category in the result list.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Cut off: The cut off marks will depend on factors like number of applicants and difficulty level in the entrance exam. As per the AIIMS MBBS 2016 cut off marks, general category candidates have to score 50% while for OBC candidates have to score 45% in the entrance exam. The cut off will be determined on the basis of percentile as the examination will be held in two shifts and a Normalization Procedure will be used to determining the qualifying criteria. In the event of the percentiles for the two shifts being dissimilar / unequal, the lower of the two will be the eligibility cut-off for that category for all candidates i.e. both shifts.

For example - If the 50% marks correspond to a Percentile score of 90 in Shift 1 and to a Percentile score of 88 in shift 2 then all those equal to or above 88 Percentile (Percentile score of 100 to 88) in both shifts will become eligible in General Category. Similar method will be adopted for the other categories to determine eligibility cut-offs

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Merit List: The merit list will be prepared by examination authority as per the candidate’s score in the entrance exam. AIIMS MBBS 2016 merit list will be prepared only the qualified candidates. As per the rank in the merit list candidates will be called for counselling for allotment 672 MBBS seats in any of the 7 AIIMS.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Counselling: The counselling for allocation of MBBS seats in any of the 7 AIIMS course will be held at AIIMS, New Delhi. The AIIMS MBBS 2016 counselling will be conducted in offline mode which means candidates have to attend the counselling in person as per the schedule allotted to their rank. In each category i.e. UR, OBC, SC & ST, the total no. of candidate to be called for counselling will be 4 times the no. of seats available in each category. All reserved category candidates who qualify in the open (general) merit list (4 times of the open category seats i.e. up to rank number 1348) will necessarily attend the counselling for open category seats. 

Seats and Reservation: The exam will be conducted for a total of 672 MBBS seats in 7 AIIMS. Among the total seats 337 are for general and 181 are for OBC category candidates. The graph given below shows the AIIMS MBBS 2016 seats & reservation criteria.

AIPMT 2016 Official Answer Key: The examination authority CBSE will release AIPMT 2016 official answer key on May 24. The official answer key of AIPMT 2016 will be available for two days i.e. from May 24 to 26, 2016. Candidates can download official AIPMT answer key 2016 from this page as soon it will be available to check their score. Before the publication of official answer key, CBSE will publish replica of candidate’s AIPMT 2016 OMR sheet for three days from May 19 to 23, 2016. Candidates are advised to download their AIPMT 2016 OMR sheet so that they can their answers with the AIPMT 2016 official answer key.

Candidates can check and download AIPMT 2016 answer key released by CBSE and scanned Images of their OMR Sheet by logging to their account through their user ID (AIPMT 2016 Registration Number) and Password.

If candidates have doubt or find any incorrect answer provided by CBSE in AIPMT 2016 Answer Key then they can challenge it within the given dates through online window provided for this purpose. As per the AIPMT 2016 marking scheme, for each correct response candidates will score 4 marks and for each incorrect response 1 mark will be deducted from the total score.

Highlights of AIPMT 2016 marking scheme is given below:
  • Total Mark of AIPMT 2016 is 720
  • Four marks for each correct response. Total number of questions is 180. Each question is of 4 marks
  • 4 marks for each correct response therefore total marks for AIPMT 2016 is 720 (180  x 4)
  • Negative marking: One mark (-1) to be deducted for each incorrect response
  • No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. The candidates are advised not to attempt such item in answer sheet, if they are not sure of the correct response
  • More than one answer indicated in a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked
The AIPMT 2016 question booklet had 45 questions from each section of Physics, Chemistry and 90 from Biology which includes Botany and Zoology. As per AIPMT 2016 exam pattern, the questions booklet will be in English and Hindi. The question booklet either English or given to candidates as per chosen language while filling up the AIPMT 2016 application form. 

How to calculate AIPMT 2016 marks: The following procedure will be followed to calculate marks of candidates in AIPMT 2016 
  • Step 1:  4 x number of correct response = Total score of AIPMT 2016 will be out of 720
  • Step 2:  1 mark to be deducted for each incorrect response from the total score
